Former professor for Medical Clinic, TUM Department of Medicine
Prof. Peschel (*1950) conducts research in the field of haematology and tumor biology. By understanding the cell biological and molecular basics of tumor diseases, the basis for an individualized, targeted therapy for patients with leukaemia and cancer ist to be created. Acute and chronic leukaemias as well as tumor diseases of the lymphatic system (non-Hodgkin lymphomas) are the focus of fundamental and translational research. Prof. Peschel studied medicine at the University of Innsbruck, where he habilitated in 1989.
