Professor Klaus Mainzer in Athens: Complexity, AI and Academic Cooperation

Professor Klaus Mainzer, Emeritus of Excellence at TUM and President of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts (EASA), visited the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in June 2026. His stay combined academic cooperation with international scientific exchange.

During his visit, Klaus Mainzer and Professor Gerasimos Siasos, Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, signed a cooperation agreement between the University of Athens and the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.

In addition, Klaus Mainzer contributed to the 7th International Interdisciplinary Symposium on Chaos and Complex Systems. His keynote lecture, “From Complex Systems and Nonlinear Dynamics to Neuromorphic Systems and Physical AI”, as well as the subsequent Chua Colloquium, addressed topics in complexity, innovation and artificial intelligence that have been central to his research for many years.
